DORA is the Colorado Department of Regulatory Angencies. Their Civil Division takes complaints on discrimination in housing, public accomodations, and employment. Transgender individuals can file a complaint under sexual orientation which is where "transgender status" is listed. There is a time period in which something occurrs as to how much time you have to file a complaint.
Housing Discrimination................. 1 year
Public Accomodations................... 60 days
Employment..................................... 6 months
These times are from the last event of discrimination (not the first event). As soon as you think you are being discriminated against it is important that you start documenting. The more you have the better chance that the Colorado Department of Regulatory Angency (civil division) will find formal charges. This also depends if you file in the correct amount of time. Listed below is the link to DORA (civil division) for more information and the forms that you need to complete. If you need assistance understanding the forms and how to proceed...please use the "contact information" form on this site.
